Turn Acrobatics & River Bad Beats 🎢♠️

Jumped into the $1.1 Bounty Hunter 1000x Event $1000 GTD on QQPK. It was an absolute action-packed ride—a proper poker rollercoaster where luck kept shifting, from hitting sets and rivering flushes to taking a painful backdoor beat.

Ended up finishing in 264th place out of 387 players, knocking out 4 players along the way for a $1.00 bounty.

Here is a breakdown of the key hands that made this tournament memorable:

Hand Breakdown

1. Flopped Set of Sixes (Defending Against Aggression)

Pre-flop: Raised to 2BB from UTG holding pocket Sixes (6♣ 6♠). The button (D) called.

Flop (10♣ 6♣ J♠): Flopped a set of Sixes! Checked, and the opponent bet 9.33BB. I shoved my 43.09BB stack, and the opponent called off their remaining 39.29BB with K♣ Q♣ (draw).

Turn & River (2♣ 4♥): The board bricked out for the opponent, and my set took down a solid pot for +48BB.

2. Punishing Pocket Kings (Spade Flush Magic)

Pre-flop: Opened again to 2BB from UTG with suited Q♠ 10♠. HJ called.

Flop & Turn (5♠ 3♠ 9♥ 5♥): Check-called bets of 8.5BB and 11.33BB on two streets, holding a flush draw.

  • River (8♠): The flush hit! The opponent bet 14.16BB, and I shoved for 71.34BB. The opponent called, showing premium pocket Kings (K♦ K♠). Stacked them for a huge +58.76BB pot.

3. Classic Backdoor Knockout (Bustout)

Pre-flop: Got all-in holding pocket Tens (10♠ 10♦) against suited A♣ 9♣.

Board (6♠ 8♣ J♥ 3♣ 6♣): Everything looked great through the turn, but the river brought a third club (6♣), completing the opponent's backdoor flush. My two pair went up in smoke, sending me to the rail.

There was plenty of action, and equity paid off for the most part despite the tough finish. Onto the next one! 🚀
