Today I registered literally at the very last level of late registration, and got off to a pretty good start. With a short stack, I had to take some chances. First, I won a flip with 44 against KJo. Got lucky there! Then I got lucky again on the river, managing to suck out on pocket Kings with AQ. You know how it often goes against pocket pairs — an ace always seems to appear on the board. This time, I was the lucky one! 😅
After that, the cards stopped coming and I slowly started losing chips. Eventually, I was dealt A6s and decided to open. My opponent shoved preflop, and I decided to call for the bounty. Unfortunately, I ran straight into KK. No ace on the board this time, and I was left with a very short stack before getting eliminated shortly afterwards.
Looking back, I think I played that hand poorly. Calling an all-in with A6 probably wasn't the right decision. Sometimes I still make questionable plays that end up costing me the tournament. But I think that's perfectly normal for an amateur player. I'm learning little by little, and I'll keep working on my game and trying to play better! 💪♠️
