$1.1 Daily Hyper $100 GTD 2026.11.04 04:45 (UTC+2) I ended up playing a $1.10 Hyper almost by accident, since this time is really not ideal for poker. But things worked out today, and it was definitely worth it because I made the final table, even though I joined during the very last minutes of late registration.
The start wasn't great, and my stack dropped to just 7 BB. However, I got lucky in a hand against two opponents and managed to triple up.
Then, from the BB, I made a good defense with 53, flopped a set of 5s and won a pretty nice pot.
After that came a very lucky hand. Once again, it was a three-way preflop all-in, this time with my AKo against AJo and QQ. I thought I was pretty much drawing dead, but the river came to the rescue and an Ace appeared! 😅
There were quite a few uneventful hands after that, with chips going back and forth, and my stack slowly fluctuating. Then I picked up pocket QQ. This time it was a four-way preflop all-in. I didn't win the main pot, but I managed to scoop a side pot, which was still a decent result. And by then, we were already in the money.
Then came one of the key hands of the tournament. I was dealt TT in the BB, and the SB shoved preflop. We were among the biggest stacks at the table, with only six players left. I'm honestly not sure whether folding TT to a preflop shove is ever an option here. Probably not, but on the other hand, everyone else had a shorter stack than me, so maybe there was no need to risk so many chips.
And, of course, in such an important spot, my opponent showed KJs, and a King appeared on the flop. A few hands later, I was eliminated in 6th place, despite being the chip leader before that hand.
That's how one hand can turn everything upside down. Instead of having a shot at first place, you end up being the next one eliminated. But that's poker, and it happens quite often. I'm not giving up and will keep playing!
